Meet our gorgeous girl, Misty.

Misty is a lovely senior-kitizen who is looking for a loving retirement home.
She is a quiet lady who likes her own space to snooze and relax.

Misty came into the centre as she was found as a stray tangled in barbed wire.
An RSPCA officer cut her free and the rest of the wire was removed by the vets.
She recovered very well from this, Misty then had some bloods taken which showed she has renal disease (stage 2).

MEDICAL INFORMATION

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is the most common type of kidney (renal) disease and refers to gradual onset, long term disease of the kidneys. This damage usually due to the natural aging process and is often seen in cats over seven years of age. Sadly, the condition is not reversible and will deteriorate over time.

Food – Royal Canin Renal wet and dry food – Purchased online or via your vet

Medication –

Kidney Disease –
Semintra Oral Solution – 30ml Bottle:
Around £25 online + prescription from your vets.
Direct from vets, around £55.
A 30ml bottle lasts just over 6 weeks, 100ml bottles can also be bought.

Blood Pressure –
Amodip 1.25mg – 14 tablets a month – 66p per tablet online + prescription fee or direct from your vets.

She will need blood pressure checking every 1-3 months (3 months if ok) and urine checking for protein also every 3 months.
Misty’s recent tests (April 2022) show that the medication is working and will need a re-check at the end of June.

We would suggest you contact your vets, to talk about what they can offer you.

Misty would prefer to be the only animal in the household and with no children.

When you adopt a senior cat, you’re truly saving a life
