** HOUSECATS **
It’s about time you met our lovely, long haired beauties, Olivia and Peyton.
Olivia is the shyer one of the pair however her confidence has developed since being with us and now also enjoys having some attention. She soon settles and parades about purring whilst having a good old back scratch.
Peyton is quite the social butterfly and loves company and being fussed over. She is a confident girl with lots of affection to give. Whilst in our care we noticed that Peyton is blind and likely has been for some time now. Though her vision is impaired, this does not limit her in any way and she is able to navigate around her pen and enjoys playing with her toys.
Peyton and Olivia will need a patient and understanding owner who is able to meet their needs and will be rewarded with two wonderful and loving companions.
When the girls were brought into us they were sadly in desperate need of lots of TLC. They came into us via an RSPCA inspector after being found living in poor conditions in a multicat household. Both their conditions have greatly improved since being with us and have been being groomed regularly. They will need regular grooming once adopted to maintain their coats which they tend to enjoy. Peyton and Olivia also have their eyes bathed daily to help keep them nice and clean.
Due to Peyton’s sight loss it is important for an adopter to consider it may take several weeks for Peyton to adjust to her new home and get used to all of her new surroundings. It is also important to maintain a consistent area for eating/drinking, sleeping and toileting so she does not become disorientated. We would advise that you do your research about blind cats and the Persian breed to ensure they are the right match for you.
Peyton is on a calming supplement called Zylkene, when she becomes anxious/disorientated she tends to circle around but since starting the Zylkene capsules, these have reduced drastically. Once she has settled in her new home she may no longer need them, this supplement can be bought online or at your vets.
Due to having typical small Persian ears, Peyton will need her ears cleaned twice a week to help reduce any wax build up using a cleaning solution called Otodine, just to keep on top of it. This can also be purchased online at around £15 a bottle or at your vets.
The girls would be best suited being the only animals in the home and could live with children over 16 years old.
