** HOUSECATS **

Meet our handsome duo, Riley & Spencer.

Riley is a confident and cheeky chap who loves to play but most of all, he adores his human companions. He loves to be center of attention and will often try to steal your affection away from Spencer. Riley is quite happy being right by your side being pampered!
Spencer is a gentle little soul with lots of affection to give! He can be a little shy at first but soon settles and enjoys curling up on your lap. Since being with us, we found that Spencer is blind and more than likely has been for some time. Though this does not limit him in any way and he gets around his pen with no issues, jumps up and down onto his scratcher and plays!

Riley and Spencer were rescued by the RSPCA after being found in poor conditions at a multicat property.
They were both in a poor way, with dirty matted coats and in desperate need of some TLC. Their condition has improved massively and will need to be groomed regularly once adopted to help maintain their coats. Both boys will need their eyes cleaned every day to keep them nice and clean. We would advise that you do your research about blind cats and the Persian breed to ensure they are the right match for you.

Due to Spencer’s vision loss, it is important for an adopter to understand it may take several weeks for Spencer to adjust to his new home and get used to his new surroundings. It is important to maintain a consistent area for eating/drinking, sleeping and using the litter tray so he does not become disorientated.

Riley is on an eye medication called Lubrithal which is an aid in moisturising and maintaining the tear layer of the eye.
This medication can be bought online at around £10 or at your vets and typically last around 4-5 weeks.
Spencer may always have waxy ears on and off so they will need to be cleaned about twice a week using a cleaning solution called Otodine, just to keep on top of it. This can also be purchased online at around £15 a bottle or at your vets.

The boys would be best being the only animals in the household and could live with children over 16 years old.
