These pups are Bearded Collies, as a breed they have been described as self confident, lively and alert.
They require more exercise than some other breeds with 1.5 to 2 hours daily recommended.
It is worth bearing in mind the Bearded Collie is a herding breed and will require time dedicated to its training needs, if the dogs needs can be met they can make a great addition.
They are friendly with people and love to learn and play new games.

Getting a puppy can be a very exciting time but here at Llysnini we would like to remind you of what may be involved when you finally decide you would like a puppy, that will hopefully be with you for at least the next 10years.

Toilet training this can be a difficult period of time and can be quite messy, be patient with your pup and be sure to give your pup plenty of opportunities to go outside to relieve itself.
.

Handling
The fun part where you can smooth and pet your dog so they get used to touch, this will help later on in life when they may need to See a vet.
Remember your pup will also need to get used to new people so it doesn’t become fearful in future months.

Experience New Situations
Try not to overwhelm them by taking them everywhere in one week. Start off in quiet areas and build them up gradually. If you know your pup, you will see when they seem a little unsure.
Food can help make everything seem a little less scary. (Some of their daily food allowance can be used for training)

Did you know a nervous or anxious dog may refuse food!

Your Puppy has TEETH
They will want to use them so make sure you have calming chew toys at the ready, why not pop them in their bed with a toy filled with food, this will help teach them to be still AND they get to use their teeth.

Finally and forever…..

Training if you don’t take the time to train your pup who will??

Training can prevent behavioural issues arising as some dogs can become incredibly stressed without our help and direction, your pup needs you to be well prepared so please find out what training is available near you..
