Meet our handsome duo, Roberto (missing 2 toes) and Ricardo.
They are both very energetic and can be quite nervous of doors, load noises etc.
Kits have a tendency to nip and bite and these boys were no exception, they have been at Llys Nini since the middle of August and have come on really well in a short amount of time, nipping has reduced. They will need someone who can continue to handle them and grow their confidence to ensure they turn into friendly young men.
They will require a lot of your time and you will need to be patient.
They came into the centre along with their other 3 brothers as they were found abandoned.
We do not recommend kits for inexperienced ferret owners unless you are prepared to learn and teach them some manners. We do suggest you do some research if you have never owned a ferret / ferret kit before.
It is normal for ferrets to peak in biting at around 14-20 weeks old, and it can be a very big source of frustration so just stay consistent and confident. Usually when a ferret is nip-trained consistently and handled correctly, nipping will cease completely at around 12-18 months old, and most ferrets can then be trusted around faces.
They are to be adopted together as a pair and can also join an existing business.
